Spanish authors in public domain

Information on Spanish authors whose works can be found at the Biblioteca Nacional de España and are in the public domain, according to the information in the Library’s catalogues, so they can be published, reproduced or disseminated publicly.

These lists include authors who enter the public domain in the current year (2023, authors who died in 1942) and the consolidated information of authors died between 1900 and 1942.

Each year specially interesting authors are selected for digitisation and their works are made available at the Hispanic Digital Library, the portal for access to digitised library holdings.

The Writers at the BNE portal also offers similar authors who are not necessarily current or famous, with links to the catalogue and other websites, so as to disseminate and recover their work for citizens.
