Spanish bibliography

The Spanish Bibliography collects the bibliographic records of the documents published in Spain and that entered in the National Library in accordance with the current provisions of the Legal Deposit. It is an instrument for national bibliographic control, the registration of Spanish editorial production and the dissemination of the country’s intellectual and cultural heritage for present and future generations.

Online Spanish Bibliography is an electronic resource available since 2007, where the bibliographic records are ordered by large thematic groups.

On the one hand, we present the data in original format (MARC and MARC-XML – ISO 2709 -); and on the other hand, the data mapped in CSV, JSON, ODS, TXT and XML formats. To publish these data sets, a mapping of the records of our catalogue, coded in origin in MARC format, has been carried out. For each type of record, we have established a series of MARC fields and subfields to be retrieved, and a literal has been defined to describe the data that is displayed. In addition, to respect the navigation functionalities of the Online Spanish Bibliography, a series of specific fields have been established to help filtering records.
